Two of our favourite things in combination, Tru Thoughts main man Robert Luis has put together some mixes of classic tracks from the Mo Wax label. One of the things the Funkdub boys had in common, way back in the day, was a shared love of pretty much every release on James Lavelle’s imprint. Following the recent release of the “Man From Mo Wax” documentary Nirobi aka Robert Luis has put together some terrific sessions of classic cuts. There are 2 mixes across 2 different shows:
Part 1 of the Mix “is all from vinyl and includes DJ Shadow, RPM (who were based in Brighton), David Axelrod, DJ Krush, Sam Sever, Attica Blues and many more quality Mo Wax moments.”
“Part 2 of the Mo Wax special DJ mix exploring some of the more uptempo and electronic tracks from the label. The mix includes DJ Hype remixing Dr Octagon and Peshay remixing DJ Shadow. Hip Hop from Blackalicous. 4 Hero’s remix of a Carl Craig classic. La Funk Mob from France and plenty more Mo Wax treats.”
We are absolutely loving these sessions, so many classic tracks, such an iconic label. The documentary is breaking out of the cellophane shortly. Do check out Unfold Radio every week, essential listening without fail.
