The UK’s finest free festival returns, and we’re playing some records on Sunday
Africa Oye is a national treasure and it’s back once again on the 22nd and 23rd of June celebrating the music of Africa and the diaspora. From it’s roots as events in Liverpool city centre and then at Princess Park it has become a huge two day party at Sefton park with the main stage featuring world class international headliners – this year it’s the supergroup Les Amazones D’Afriques and Julian Marley and The Uprising and a packed line up throughout both days, as well as DJ’s Edu and Seani B. There’s all sorts of other things going on and we’re delighted to be back playing on the Freetown DJ stage, we’ve previously played both there and on the Trenchtown stage, a *very* ill timed bout of Covid19 put paid to the set in 2022, so it’s a particular pleasure to return this year. The even better thing about Africa Oye is, unbelievably, it’s completely free, so hope to catch you there! (or if you can’t make it, get some merch or make them a donation to keep the event running).
