Autumn Shows Run Down

0 Posted by - 11th September 2018 - Recommended, Top Picks by G-Kush

There are a raft of excellent shows forthcoming in the next few months, with some of our favourite artists out on tour.

Gentleman’s Dub Club

Hot on the heels of one of the album’s of the year  with the Nextmen, GDC are back for a full UK tour and are one of the finest live bands you’ll ever see. Jumping out is the Fiesta Bombarda Carnival in Liverpool on 21/09/2018, full details of the UK tour are here, and if you haven’t seen it already check the video for dancefloor bomb “Rudeboy”

Sly5th Ave

A treat not to be missed in October. Sly5thAve produced one of the best records of 2017 with his Orchestral tribute to Dr Dre on the Tru Thoughts imprint. He’s coming to the UK for a full headline tour in October, check out the dates here. The Invisible Wind Factory in Liverpool host him on 19th Of October, not to be missed! If you haven’t already, get stuck into one of our summer favourites “Let Me Ride”

KRS-One

Only one way to put it, a hip hop legend, who dropped a new album in 2017. KRS-One is playing a few dates in the UK this autumn, including 24 Kitchen Street in Liverpool, a master craftsman not to be missed. Everyone knows “Sound Of The Police”, so here is another classic cut from BDP:

Dub Pistols

Barry Ashworth and his crew need no introduction on this website, quite simply one of the hardest working and very best live bands you’ll see. We can say, having seen them too many times to count, that they knock it out of the park every single time, most recently an unforgettable show at Positive Vibration this year. They’re on a huge tour this autumn, check them out if you possibly can (and take a listen too 5 of the best if you haven’t already), tickets here.

Scientist

Speaking of Positive Vibration, those who went in 2017 will not forget the legendary producers’ set that year. The excellent news is that he’s coming back to Europe in 2018 for some very special shows in collaboration with legendary MC Horseman. He’s confirmed as playing at District in Liverpool on 23rd of November and in Blaenau-Ffestiniog on the 16th of November. Keep an eye out for additional dates and check out the master at work below:

The Drop

One of our favourite acts of the last few years are dropping a new album this week and going out on the road over the autumn to support it. Do check them out if they’re in your area and have a look at their most recent video, which we’re enjoying very much.

Smiley & The Underclass

Last but by no means least the outstanding Smiley and the boys continue to get better and better. If you made it to the barn-storming show in Chester you won’t need telling what a powerful act they are, and they’ve backed it up with shows across Europe and around the world and a full round of festivals. The good news is they’re back for more dates this autumn, we’d recommend you catch them as soon as you can!

No doubt we’ve missed plenty out, feel free to hit us up with unmissable shows this autumn
