Following the success of their 2015 reggae chart topping album, The Big Smoke, past Funkdub guests Gentleman’s Dub Club (GDC) have teamed up with the likes of the legendary Prince Fatty (Lily Allen, Dub Syndicate, The Skints, Hollie Cook), Hungarian-born DJ Madd, Chief Rockas, Nick Manasseh and ex-GDC member Eddie Ranking to shed a fresh light on the material. The result is their new 7-track remix EP, The Big Smoke (Remixed).
Gentleman’s Dub Club formed in Leeds, England back in 2006. Fusing elements of dub, ska, and roots reggae, the 9-piece band has earned their place among the UK’s top reggae-centric acts and have become regulars at Europe’s biggest music festivals. The Big Smoke (Remixed) is the band’s second release on Easy Star Records.
