Dubkasm meets Iration Steppas

1 Posted by - 21st September 2016 - Features & Reviews, Listen / Watch

This heavyweight double EP is Dubkasm’s typically forward-thinking tribute to soundsystem dub, and the hardware that shaped it. Named after the Soundtracs CM4400 console in the duo’s Bristol studio (and with artwork based on the original 1986 manual), sides A & B are deep, brooding synth instrumentals, showcased at the Deep Medi Boiler Room set, and reminiscent of greats like Dread & Fred and Sound Iration. Sides C & D feature very special remixes by Leeds digital legends Iration Steppas, with an extra remix of Dubkasm’s killer 10″ No Retreat. The second 12″ is unmistakably the work of Mark Iration: filled with growling filter bass and siren-like keyboards, Year 3000 style! A more fitting pairing for these tunes is hard to imagine.

Mastered onto 1/2″ tape at Stardelta Studios, pressed on 180g vinyl, and run exclusively by Dubkasm and Iration across the globe, these tunes are already soundsystem killers.
