One of our absolute favourite events is back once again for 2019 on the 22nd and 23rd of June at Sefton Park in Liverpool. You won’t catch a more joyful event anytime, anywhere. They’ve announced the first and second wave of acts including: BCUC – coming out of Soweto, potently infusing indigenous music with hip hop and rock. Also announced is Algerian singer and inventor of oriental glam, Sofiane Saidi with Mazalda.
Exciting new announcements today are Afrofuturist Hip Hop / Soul duo OSHUN as well as the Haitian voodoo sounds of Moonlight Benjamin, and Senagalese hip hop from Carlou D. As ever the DJ stages, the Active Zone and all the other food stalls will be back. Best of all the festival is still free.
Check out www.africaoye.com for ongoing updates and to donate or buy merchandise to help keep the festival free for years to come.
